Our sweet little man is ten months old today! It is hard to believe how fast he is growing and learning. He is still tiny, just shy of 17 pounds, and in 6, 6-9, and 9 month clothes. Don't tell him he is little though!
William is now full-on crawling and pulling up to stand. He is starting to think about cruising, but at this point doesn't get very far, it is more like stomping his feet. He also claps and waves hi and bye (sometimes), or just waves when he is excited. We are working on blowing kisses. He does not like to crawl on grass, so putting him on a blanket outside is an effective way to contain him for now. Inside, the pets are great crawling targets, too bad they move away! Both animals are great with him, or avoid him when not in the mood. He fairly consistently says mamma, dada, and hi. I am pretty sure he has started calling kitty, and may for Maddie. He has a sign for more, which is not the standard sign, but more like the sign for clapping/yay. He waves/spins his hands. We call it "keep it coming."
Will is a great eater. Cheerios are still a favorite, but he will drop Cheerios for a bite of sweet potato. He likes to eat all of one thing at a time. All the Cheerios, then all the cheese, then all the meat or veggies. Fruit is always last. He likes the fruit, just saves it for dessert. Such a funny boy, just like his daddy. Will eats three solid meals, three bottles, and two to three nursing a every day! He is doing more self feeding, as you have seen, which is fun, but a mess. Makes for more clean up but Maddie is happy to help and it frees up mommy and daddy to enjoy their own dinners so we can eat as a family.
Will is a champion sleeper, with a pretty consistent 8:30-6:00. We definitely see 4:00 am once a week or so, and an occasional 3:00, but I am not complaining! He naps better with the babysitter, but generally gets two naps a day.
He loves blocks, the remote control, spoons, cups, and singing. Nothing makes him as happy as being outside. He plays SOOO hard. he works up a sweat and is very intense about whatever he is doing, and will ignore us trying to get his attention, but He is a super snuggle, and will randomly stop, crawl over into our laps and give us a kiss. Such a sweet child!
Yesterday I dropped him off with the sitter and he crawled straight to the xylophone, pulled up, hit a couple of notes and looked right at me and started singing. Made me want to cry! He will also share his Cheerios (ie, put them into our mouths for us) if we ask, and if he is not too hungry.
We are so blessed to have this sweet boy!
