Babymoon

For those of you who do not frequent the mom-to-be blog scene, the new thing is to take a trip as a couple to enjoy each other in the second trimester.

C and I headed to Nags Head this weekend to watch the syorms roll through.  We stayed at Oasis Suites on the sound and enjoyed getting spoiled.  We also got a couples' massage.  it was wonderful!  I can eat fish for the moment, so I took advantage and enjoyed tuna, dolphin, and lots of shrimp.  We ended up enjoying ourselves at Basnight's Lone Cedar so much that we ate there twice!  We also enjoyed Duck Donuts, such a treat that we brought home a dozen.

We both had Monday off work, and the weather finally cleared up, so we climbed around at Jockey's Ridge and went out to the beach.  We had a great time.  Next big trip is Pawlies Island at week 37.

Heartbeat

A few weeks ago, a friend from work lent me her old stethescope so we could listen for LC's heartbeat at home. We could catch it from time to time if LC was in just the right spot and I held my breath.

At this point LC should be just over a pound and seems to like hanging out where we can hear more, because this weekend we could pick up the fast flutter of a heartbeat pretty consistently.

It's fun to check in when we wake up and say hi!

Pictures from Nags Head to come.

22 Weeks Belly Picture!

No questions there! At least one patient a day asks me when I am due.
Also fun - I figured out that the kicks with rhythm are hiccups. I am getting lots of hiccups that aren't mine!

Ultrasound!

Legs crossed - baby wants us to wait to find out the sex, too.
Profile - baby facing right, and a little hand in front of the chest.
We got to see wiggly baby rub his/her eye, what looked like a wave, and put a hand inthe mouth. We also saw some sucking - an important skill!
A little more skeletal looking, but a healthy brain, and all the measurements looked good.

Overall a very positive, healthy visit! Heartbeat sounded good, and baby was wiggling away! Baby is 11 ounces, just right for his/her age. We should hit one pound in the next two to three weeks!
We appreciate all of the prayers and love. LC still has a lot of growing to do, so keep on praying!
