Rocky Mount Adventure

Our adventure to Rocky Mount was planned to be a quick in and out, but we got to see lots of new faces.  Will thinks Pops' and Leh-Leh's back porch is the best place in the world!  There are crickets and frogs and water fountains, and ceiling fans!  And no one will put him down, so it is all snuggles.

We got to meet Aunt Kelly!  Yay!

Uncle Alex got to snuggle and give me a bottle, too!

Family photos!

Maddie, too!

Granny Robin really knows how to snuggle!
Uncle Austin came to see me, too, but we managed to not get any pictures of him.  :-(
Sorry Austin!

Mrs. Rosemary snuggles, too!

Mr. Larry sat with me in the sun.

Great Aunt Alicia came to see me!

Great-Grandma always gives good hugs!

Cousin Nick was great!

So was cousin Kate!

My new cow hat from the Summers.  So cute!

We had a great time!  Mommy and Daddy enjoyed the break. Will and Maddie slept all day Sunday and most of Monday. We are hoping for a longer trip to Rocky Mount to  see all the "almost-family" in Rocky Mount in mid-September.

Thank you everyone for coming to see Will and for giving Mommy and Daddy a break!

Update and Pictures

 Here's our little angel...

Will has had a great week.  Mommy and Daddy had a busy-to-rough week. Last Monday, we found out our top two daycares will not have a spot for Will unless another kid leaves, until January.  So we had to start another search, and are visiting a couple of places this week.

Tuesday, at our peds visit, we found that Will was only up to 6 pounds 7 ounces, a much slowed rate of growth.  He had barely broken birthweight at 4 and a half weeks.  We ended up starting to supplement with formula.  We spent the past week doing the pumped breastmilk plus formula to make sure he was getting 2 ounces per feeding.  (Mommy did not take this great, but the goal is for Will to grow strong and healthy, so it is all good.)

Results have been great!  Today Will was up to 7 pounds 5 ounces at our peds visit.  A huge growth!  After a few days of the increased volume he has been eating up to 4 or 5 ounces at a feeding, and sleeping for longer periods.  He is also more alert and social.

I went to Lactation Consultant #3 this week, and have lots of strategies to try to keep him growing for now and help him get back onto the breast as he gets bigger.  We are heading to ENT to check out his tongue Thursday, and I have a new pump to try.  Ultimately, we are just glad he is growing.

In other, very fun news, Will has started giving us true social smiles and is much more interactive.

Over this past weekend, the four of us (Maddie came along, too), went to Rocky Mount for a quick family visit, and to meet Aunt Kelly and Uncle Alex.  We also got to see lots of other family and near-family while we where there, including Great-Aunt Alicia, and Cousins Nick and Kate.

Aunt Liz helped out at my house, when Daddy went back to work.
This is how I sleep in my little bed, in the big bed.

One Month Old!

These are not first bath pictures, but they are great bath pictures!  Will LOVES a bath.

 Snuggly, after bathtime.
Oh My!  Lots of pictures!  I guess Mommy can post Rocky Mount pictures soon.
