We've been in baby feeding bootcamp!
Our peds visit on Thursday had Will weighing in at 6lb even, well under the gain that we would like to be seeing. (Typically babies get back up to birth weight by two weeks of age, and this was two and a half weeks, still significantly shy of the goal.)
Our pediatrician is great, however, and still very supportive of exclusive breastfeeding. As a result, we are on a fairly intensive feeding schedule of feeding at the breast, feeding breastmilk from a bottle, and pumping every two hours. We are pretty tired at this point!
Will seems to be responding well; he looks bigger, and is eating more quantity and with more gusto. We will make a foodie out of him, yet! We go back for another weigh in (this is starting to feel like reverse Weight Watchers) on Tuesday.
Christian is heading back to work on Monday, so the Lehnes clan has graciously offered to spend some time in Hillsborough to help out with the intensive feeding regimen.
In more fun news... Will loves music. One of Shelly's coworkers made him a big stack of kids' music CDs, and he thoroughly enjoys them during awake times. Sesame Street and Baby Einstein Beethoven seem to be the favorites. I am trying to get him hooked on Sharon, Louis, and Braham - good memories. :-)
Playtime
I love my books, especially ones that rhyme.
This is Mary Ellen, the midwife who delivered Will.
Will, these are the three people who can say, "I brought you into this world, I can take you out of it."
