Baby's First Christmas Morning

Santa came!

Will is so excited to get that gift! Ripping paper is fun.

My do it!

Yes, William, plates are for eating, but not quite like that!

OK, everything is for eating.

Will was so excited about the tree, lights, paper to rip, and new toys, that we had to pace ourselves on Christmas morning.  He woke up, ate, opened two presents, and then promptly needed a nap!  Mommy and Daddy got some grown up Christmas time, then he opened a few more gifts when he woke up. It was quite a good time.

Will got a ton of great stuff from him wonderful family and fictives!  Clothes, toys, books, dishes and spoons, a play mat, a rocking turtle, snugglies, christmas tree ornaments, and a blanket made by his Great-Grandma. He is one lucky kid to have so much love!

Somehow, I managed to get NO pictures of the Lehnes house Christmas on Christmas day afternoon.  I know pictures were taken, so we will see what we can get from Pops.

Oh, Christmas Tree

So we're going to put a tree in the house?

I'm really not sure about this, Daddy.

But I do love green things!

It's scratchy!

New family pictures!

We got our tree from the firemen!  They have a big red truck that will be really exciting in abobut two years. For now the shinny bell is really exciting

Food?

You mean there is food that isn't milk?

Mmmmm, rice and milk. This is pretty good.

How does this work? Do you suck on the spoon?
I knew spoons were great, but this is the best spoon ever!

Maybe if I suck on the tray it will come faster...

Licking the spoon...

I can do it!

We started Will out with a whole grain rice cereal, just to try, last weekend. He was very, very enthusiastic about the process.  He insisted on feeding himself to start with, although yesterday he figured out that he gets it faster if he lets us feed him. This weekend, we try bananas!  I think our feeding woes will now be a thing of the past!

For those into the mommy debates... When and what to start is a hot issue.  The research I have seen seems to say that the what does not matter too much.  The when is best to wait as long as possible, preferably to six months.  However the newest research is contradicting that.  Our pediatrician (OK two pediatricians, because I have to have lots of opinions) said starting at four months rarely causes issues, and is a good way to use less formula. (He is getting 8-12 ounces of formula/day.) We opted to start solids while we have him at home over Christmas, but are sticking to simple, low-allergen foods. We are starting with rice cereal, because we're Asian! We are ading in fruits and veggies quickly, though.

Go Tar Heels!

We saw UNC play ECU on Will's five motnh birthday.

It was a lot of excitement, and we only made it to the second half!

Will was a fan of seeing all the people, though!

About halfway through the half, the stadium got to be a bit much, so we took a break under the nursing cover.  Will didn't want to be forgetten though!

At the end of the game he snacked and passed out.  It was so exciting!

OUT!
